7.0/10

I had a varied experience at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The hotel took commendable measures for Covid safety which made me feel comfortable during my stay. However, some aspects like the outdated rooms and mediocre dining options left me wanting more. The staff were attentive, but the overall service didn't quite meet my expectations, especially for a place of this brand's reputation.

Rooms
6.0
The double queen room was comfortable but a bit outdated, with squeaky beds and some stains on the bedspread. Overall, it felt a bit less than what I would expect from Fairmont.
Service
7.0
The valet staff were great and very welcoming, but overall the service didn't hit the high standards I hoped for. There were some perks offered, which was nice.
Location
10.0
The location was excellent, just a minute's walk to the Blackcomb gondola lifts, making it perfect for skiing.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were quite limited since one of the main restaurants closed early. The room service was disappointing, with costly poor-quality food.
Facilities
7.0
I didn't utilize many of the facilities, so I can't provide details. It seemed decent but unremarkable.

5.0/10

My stay was quite mixed. The hotel had excellent valet service and a warm, welcoming staff who took care of our needs, but I encountered significant issues with the room quality and cleanliness. The dining experience was underwhelming due to dirty cutlery and glasses, which was unacceptable. While the staff did their best to accommodate, the overall stay didn't match what I'd expect from a hotel of this caliber.

Rooms
5.0
The room was disappointing, very noisy, and had a lingering smell of cigarettes. The cleanliness was also an issue, especially with the dirty cutlery in room service.
Service
7.0
The staff was professional and very helpful throughout my stay, especially at the front desk, but the room service left much to be desired.
Location
5.0
The hotel is fairly well-located, but I had a noisy room that was too close to the elevators and common areas, which made for an unpleasant stay.
Dining
5.0
Dining in was a letdown due to the unclean dishes. It's a shame because the overall room service experience could have been enjoyable if everything had been clean.
Facilities
6.0
While the hotel has spa and wellness facilities, I didn't have the chance to fully experience them due to my overall disappointment.

This hotel offers a beautiful, spacious property with easy access to skiing and great amenities. I was impressed with the ski valet service, which greatly enhanced my skiing experience. However, there were some issues with room cleanliness and service that detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Rooms
7.0
The room was average in size and well-kept, though I was disappointed that it wasn’t cleaned properly upon arrival.
Service
6.0
While the ski valet team was amazing and made the experience seamless, overall service seemed lacking with some communication issues.
Location
10.0
The hotel is perfectly located right at the foot of Blackcomb Mountain, making it super convenient for skiing and access to the shuttle service to the village.
Dining
7.0
The on-site restaurant was a bit pricey but offered good food; however, it was hard to find seating during peak hours.
Facilities
8.0
The ski valet service and pool area were highlights, but I experienced a two-hour limit at the spa, which felt restrictive.

7.6/10

I had a mix of experiences at this hotel. On one hand, the location is perfect for skiers and the facilities like the ski valet and outdoor pools are fantastic. However, my first impressions were marred by issues with room cleanliness and service delays which really need improvement. The dining options were great, but there’s room for better breakfast offerings. Overall, while there are notable positives, I hope management addresses the shortcomings to provide a more consistent experience.

The room was average and unfortunately not cleaned properly upon arrival. I appreciated the amenities, but cleanliness was a big issue.

5.6/10

My stay was quite a mixed bag. The room I was given was extremely noisy due to its proximity to the elevators and had a lingering smell of cigarettes, which made it less than pleasant. On the bright side, the staff were professional and nice, and they generously waived my in-room dining bill after the dirty cutlery incident. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations for a hotel of its supposed quality.

I found the room to be noisy and it smelled of cigarettes, which was disappointing.
Service
